for many, many years. However there are a few do's and don't's
to get the most from your garment.
Do
Clean it. Use cold water and a sponge but
don't use soap or detergent, they can damage the jacket.
Repair it. There is no shame in wearing a
Barbour jacket that has "seen better days" - however,
to the job right, return it to the shop from which you bought
it, or directly to Barbour. A typical repair or service takes
around two or three weeks.
Reproof it. Again this is a service provided
by Barbour themselves, but this can be six to eight weeks. To

Don't
Repair it yourself. A jacket can be irrevocably
damaged - return it to Barbour to maximise longevity.
Machine wash your jacket. This will remove
the wax coating and cannot be undone.
Dry clean it. Again this can ruin your jacket.
